HBO (Home Box Office) is an American premium cable and satellite TV network that is maintained by Home Box Office, Inc., a part of AT&T’s WarnerMedia. The program which properties on the network consists mostly of theatrically released motion pictures and original TV shows, along with made-for-cable movies, documentaries, and specific comedy and concert specials.
HBO is the oldest and longest continuously serving pay-TV service in the United States, having been in the running since November 8, 1972. In 2016, HBO had an adjusted producing income of US$1.93 billion, compared to the US$1.88 billion it gathered in 2015. HBO has 130 million subscribers globally as of 2016. The network provides 24/7 multiplex channels, including HBO Signature, HBO Comedy, HBO Latino, and HBO Family. It started the streaming service HBO Now in April 2015 and has above 2 million subscribers in the United States as of February 2017.
